Jane Austen was born at Steventon Rectory in North-East Hampshire. She moved to Bath, when she was 25, in 1800 and lived there several years. She eventually moved to Chawton House back in Hampshire.

The town is called Meryton. Most of the action of Pride and Prejudice takes place at Longbourn, which is Mr. Bennet's estate. There seems to be a village on the estate, as Mr. Bennet says at one point, "No officer is ever to enter my house again, nor even to pass through the village." He does not have authority over Meryton to say such a thing, but the village of Longbourn, if there is one, is not important to the novel.
