LEGO originally came from Holland by Ole Kirk Cristainsen in about 1932 when they made wooden toys, then two years later his son - Kjeld Kirk Cristainsen invented blocks of which you stick together to make a model. In England they were called 'Self-Locking Bricks', and then the became worldwide about 10 years later
