British General Wolfe lay siege to the city in June, 1789.
On 12 Sept he landed 4000 troop and snuck up to the Plains of Abraham, just outside the city.
On 13 Sept 1789 he and his troops soundly clobbered the French under Montcalm, thus ending the battle and forced the surrender of the French.
Both Montcalm and Wolfe were killed in this battle.
