well he explored the south pole and i do not know where he started from
Sir Robert Falcon Scott set out on his journey to the South Pole in 1910 as part of the Terra Nova Expedition.
Captain Scott sailed the Discovery from England to Antarctica in 1901 for his first Antarctic expedition.
There have been several ships called Discovery. Possibly the earliest was sailed from London by Henry Hudson on April 17, 1610. In 1901, another Discovery was built to go to Antarctica (the South Pole) for an expedition by Robert Falcon Scott. It was modeled after another Discovery (the bloodhound) used in the 1870s as a whaling ship.
The race to the South Pole began in the early 20th century, with several expeditions being launched from 1901 onwards. Notably, Roald Amundsen and Robert Falcon Scott were the two prominent leaders in the race, with Amundsen successfully reaching the pole on December 14, 1911.
