Portugal was limited by the Treaty of Tordesillas (1494) which gave Spain the right to colonize most of the Americas. The exception was Brazil, the easternmost part of South America. Portugal, however, also conducted trade, conquest, and piracy in India by sailing around Africa.
By many of the Spanish explorers the Aztecs were conquered by the Spanish and the Spanish were the first explorers to come to the New World
actually they searched every country that they can find like Philippines for they thought it had lots and lots of gold! then after they knew Philippines is rich in natural resources they conquered it
