Where did all the animals and people go to the toilet on the ark?

This is a good question and although we don't know the exact answer to this we do know a number of things from the biblical record. It is stated that there were a number of decks and so presumably (my assumption) the lowest deck became effectively the garbage dump including the 'toilet' and place of disposal. Various insects as well as many other organisms, many of microscopic size would have enjoyed their 'feast.' This activity would also have assisted the whole mess from becoming what is termed 'anaerobic' which simply means the absence of air. While certain organisms can operate in this environment the process produces a foul odor which does not occur in an environment containing sufficient oxygen. Interestingly, such a well aerated 'garbage disposal unit' would also have produced heating for the ark, which adds to the likelihood of it being the lowest deck, as hot air rises. Such air also is not at all unhealthy, although the window at the top of the ark would have assisted in drawing out any foul odors, as the wind, which we are told did occur as part of the drying out of the earth, blew.
