im not sure but if i remember right i got mines in the summer and it started maturing and stuff around or after winter In my experience, they mature much slower than other kinds of ducks. It takes at least 5 months for the males to show their full colors.
yes the only domestic ducks that can fly are female (and young male) muscovy ducks and call ducks. the rest do not fly.

So far my Rouen duck mama is faithfully sitting on her eggs, although the first season she was laying eggs, she didn't seem to care about them, but this batch she is sitting on faithfully. I have read other posts saying that they are good mommas! Let's hope so!
