The idea of presenting events from English history in play form was already established. Shakespeare got his information about the turbulent reign of Henry VI from Holinshed's Chronicles.
Shakespeare didn't invent the idea of plays. It was the Greeks who did that. He did however write a number of them, for the purpose of making money for himself and his partners.
Umm, where did you get that idea? We have no idea how long it took Shakespeare to write his play. Or how long it took Arthur Brooke to write his poem. Perhaps you are thinking of some other Romeo and Juliet, in which case you should specify.
Plays documenting English history had been popular before Shakespeare started and one of his first dealt with events in the reigns of Henry VI and Edward IV, and he had written a very successful play about the reign of Richard III. Also, he had access to a book called Holinshed's Chronicles, which was a goldmine of ideas for history plays. Plus, there had already been a successful play about Henry V, and the idea of having a play about the youth of this charismatic character was a good one.
We have no idea what Shakespeare did or didn't like.
Shakespeare wrote The Taming of the Shrew for the same reason he wrote all of his plays--for money. That's how he earned his daily crust. There was already a similar play out there called The Taming of a Shrew, and Shakespeare used the idea for his own purposes.
We have no idea what Shakespeare thought about anything.
who are you ,do i know you?
They are called anti-Stratfordians, since their position is more defined by the negative idea that Shakespeare did not write his plays than by the positive idea that someone else (Bacon, Marlowe, Oxford, Queen Elizabeth, Pocahantas, Lope de Vega etc.) did.
We have no idea what Shakespeare liked to do when he was a child.
Shakespeare added a comic element to his tragedies.
We have no idea what Shakespeare's thoughts as a child might have been.
It sounded like a good idea for a play when he read Brooke's poem, and a good play would make him money.
