All of the US States have had epidemics of swine flu and many continue to still have cases in September 2009. It is expected that a new wave of the Pandemic flu will hit the US again during the regular flu season along with the strains that are expected to be the seasonal flus this year.

Swine flu has been widespread in the US, with California as one of the earliest and hardest hit states. All cities of significant size in all US States have had at least one case of the flu and probably many. As of January 2010, there had been a total of 10,031 cases and 470 deaths reported for California. It has been estimated by the CDC that many more cases have occurred than have been confirmed by laboratory testing or medical diagnosis, therefore these figures are suspected of being low estimates of the actual numbers.
They were expensive last year because there was bird flu and they could have germs. That could be because they do not want us to buy them!
Are you Asian? If so, you are still not at risk of being slaughtered if the Asian flu breaks out in your area. [Assuming that is what your question means as a joke, otherwise the connections in your question are not clear.] In any case, if you get your flu vaccinations each year, you should be protected against the Asian flu if it has potential for spreading into your area during a future flu season. It is not expected to be one of the types of flu circulating in the 2011-2012 flu season in the US.
Yes, each year in the US approximately 36,000 people die from the flu; most did not have a flu vaccination.
