The Pennacook were an Algonquian group of small tribes living on the Merrimac River, New Hampshire. After suffering very badly during the King Phillip War of 1675 to 1676, their few remaining people went to Canada to join the St Francis Abenaki.

Pennacook means "at the bottom of the hills".
