The engine room crew lived in the foreward section of the ship under the forecastle deck. They spent the entire voyage going between there and the boiler rooms.
The men were supposed to stay on deck and wait for all the woman and children to get on first wether they be 1st 2nd or 3rd class but first class men thought better of themselves and decided that they should get on before 3rd class. So they should have not been on until the end but men snuck on dressed as woman or threatened crew members. Most gentlemen stayed on deck but not all.

Seriously I have no idea, now I don't live in an area remotely cold( I don't even know what snow really looks like besides on pictures and movies) but really, aren't icebergs supposed to be HUGE and VISABLE seeing as it was capable of sinking the titanic....so either the crew were either really blind, not paying attention or they did see it and were hoping the titanic sprouting wings before the crash. (sarcasm there :p )
