Actually, The Lords Prophet Jeremiah was around 600BC time period; therefore it would around 2100 years from the 1500s AD and more currently around 2600 years ago from our days and times.... and to think Ray Stephens was able to insert this into a lyric of one of his songs.
This is an old proverb attributed to the Englishman, John Heywood, in 1546.
Sorry, John Heywood was paraphrasing Jeremiah Chapter 5: verse 21, written over 1500 years earlier.
There are two songs that use those lyrics: 1. "Everything is Beautiful" by Ray Stevens There is none so blind as he who will not see. We must not close our minds; we must let our thoughts be free. Mulls There are none so blind as those who will not see None so blind as you and me (http://www.zmulls.com/lyricview?LyricNum=119)

None So Blind was created in 1994-11.
"None so blind as those who will not see" appears in Matthew Henry's Commentaries (1708-1710). The proverb is an echo of The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah, 5:21: "Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes and see not; which have ears and hear not."
The author of the quote, 'honesty is a lethal weapon against those who have none themselves, is Cicero. Marcus Tullius Cicero, was a Roman philosopher, politician, lawyer, orator, political theorist, and consul. He was assassinated on December 7, 43 BC, in Formia, Italy.
