It was a hard time for them starting day's work at 4:30. They had to make formation starting there until 7:00 and it was during that time even in the summer. Then the beatings started. From 1944 - 45, there were 4 or 5 people dead each morning. Then there was the daily medical experimentation. For much for work.

Auschwitz-Birkenau was a Death Camp, which meant that the vast majority of Jews who were sent there were immediately "liquidated", which means that they were sent systematically to the gas chambers. What was the history of the Auschwitz?

Auschwitz I is located in Poland, and was originally used as a prison for the "outcasts of life" such as people with disabilities, deformities, gypsies, homosexuals and Jews (unfortunately, of course). Auschwitz II - Birkenau was started in 1941 and was larger and more "deadly and famous" than Auschwitz I. Auschwitz II is what most people referr to when they say "Auschwitz". Auschqitz III - Monowitz was a chemical plant where most of the workers were slave labourers. It is in use as a chemicals factory. Tours for the public are held at the remains of Auschwitz I and II. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auschwitz

What are the 3 parts of Auschwitz called?

Auschwitz had 3 big 'main' camps. They were called Auschwitz I, Auschwitz Birkenau and Auschwitz Monowitz. Monowitz was really a sub camp which was commonly used and when expanded did become as part of the main camps. Out of the lot, Auschwitz Birkenau was the biggest and most feared of as this part was about Extermination when the Final Solution was putted in place.
