No. The isuzu trooper 3.5 will work with a 98-2005 rodeo but a 97 is a first gen. The 3.5 is the bored stroked version of the 3.2 with all the same connections as the 2nd gen Rodeos. The 1st gen Rodeos used a different 3.2 with different connections.
I think what you are looking at is a distributorless ignition system. All engine controls are routed through the ecm, or engine control module and timing is changed automatically as needed for emmissions and performance.
wear gloves, bearings all come out. then you have to remove the sensor off the back of it. along with 6 17mm bolts. How do you change the rotors in the front on a 1998 Isuzu Trooper
It's in the fuel tank, like on all modern vehicles.
According to all books it should be .44
AGE ! if it is low compression and not no compression then your piston rings and valves are worn too much and the engine probably needs to be rebuilt.
A lot of workAnything is possible, the engine compartment is made to accept a 6 cylinder but you will need to fabricate engine mounts, use all of the Buick engene controls, retain the Buick transmission ( the shifter may not fit in the Isuzu hole), and have a hybrid drive shaft made from the two keeping the Isuzu back half and the Buick front half. Hopefully the cooling hoses are somewhat similar. A lot of work in other words.
The ECT Senor is located on the passenger side of the engine, between the firewall and the back of the engine, on top of the engine. It's almost impossible to see and barely able to be touched by hand. I'm not sure how you're supposed to R&R it though. Ceck all your fuses first.
It is possible that there is a problem with moisture causing a short circuit if all the dash lights come on. It could also be a faulty relay or alternator.
Help me please - engaged clutch - turned key- engine turned over - power and all then died -- restarted - pop and no power as if battery died???? what can I trouble shoot and where to start???? Thanks
Depends on the motor. All the wiring schematics are shown in the Chilton's manual available at most part stores for around 15 dollars
you know, they did not all have the same engine. If you expect an answer the engine information would be necessary.
