That really depends on the inderviduel with autism. Some do & even have good results but many don't for reasons of there own. Some don't because they can't cope with University (too many people), some can't cause they don't want to get bullied anymore cause they got bullied enough at school, some can't go because they also have Learning Difficulties as well as autism, which makes them struggle accidemicly, which would not be suted for University & others can't go for all of these reasons. But there are still those that do go & get good results; but don't know what do with their life once they'bve finished.

Autism has a wide spectrum of presentation. At the lower end (Asperger's Syndrome) the ability to focus on complex tasks is an enhancement in careers in science, mathematics and similar. Many TV characters (experts in chemistry, computers, forensic investigation, etc) who are presented as being a genius exhibit these traits, Even Sherlock Holmes could be put in their group. As an example, engineers as a group tend to exhibit the high concentration, low social skills attributed to autism. They all go to University.

What happens if a high school student with autism is put into regular classes?

I'm 13 with autism and I go to "regular" classes with everybody else. Autism can range from mild to severe. The symptoms of people with autism can vary. People with autism can have very low IQs, but ones labeled as high-functioning have average or higher IQs. People with autism can have different tolerances for different settings - noise, brightness, temperature, scents, number of people, etc. Thus, some will be fine in "regular" classes and some will not. Some will outperform other students in "regular" classes. Some will do fine in a few "regular" classes, but not well in a few other "regular" classes.

What is Autism awareness?

Autism awareness is simply making people aware of autism and Autistic people. Unfortunately organizations such as Autism Speaks uses autism awareness to speak negatively about autism and Autistic people to increase their profits, thus there remains a lot of ignorance about autism.

How do you get involed with autism speaks?

You wouldn't, not if you cared about Autistic people. Autism Speaks is widely considered a hate group by Autistic people. They use hate speech and propaganda about Autism to increase their profits, very little of their profits go towards helping Autistic people and their families, and instead Autism Speaks support 'curing' Autism which means preventing Autistic people being born. The organization has no Autistic people in their leadership, they refuse to listen to Autistic people who tell them that they are causing harm to the Autism community, they also support anti-vaccination movements, torture of Autistic children, and they sympathize with parents who murder their Autistic children. If you're interested in helping Autistic people a better organisation to get involved with is the Autism Self Advocacy Network - this is run by and for Autistic people and does a lot more to help Autistic people than Autism Speaks ever has. Go to their web site and Facebook page to see what opportunities they have available to work with them or to do fundraising.

What are the benefits of organizing an Autism Awareness group at your school you need a fast answer?

The benefits of organizing an Autism Awareness group at your school is giving Autistic students support, helping Autistic students come together to gain support or friendship with Autistic peers, gives Autistic people a safe space, allows students to tackle issues that impact on Autistic students, and allows students to raise money for Autism causes. It is important that Autistic people take the lead in any sort of Autism Awareness, it is also important to avoid any sort of material from organisations like Autism Speaks which use ableist anti-Autism propaganda that harms Autistic people under the guise of Autism Awareness.

Can people with autism dangerous?

People with autism does not spread to others. It's just starts to happen when they're born. Sometimes if they have A LOT of autism, they may look scary and copy what you do because they have learning problems. How they act could indicate autism such as not listening to adults or repetitively stacking of lining up objects. They might also act weird. And also when they grown up and have children, the child may also have autism because of their gene. People with autism SHOULD go to a special school. You could tell if they have it by they're voice, how they act and of copping others. No, autism isn't really harmful to others. It won't spread to others. ;)
