Where do cutters cut themselves?

It varies between different self-mutilators, but in my personal experience, I began cutting when I was twelve-years-old and since it was an entirely new experience for me, I didn't think others would understand it since I didn't understand it myself. This is why I didn't attempt to hide the wounds, and I was cutting in immediately visible places on my arms. After my first hospitalization in a mental institution, I learned very quickly I didn't want to ever return to that place and so I began methodically hiding my self-harm. Today, I still use these places, such as my upper arms (which can be hidden by short-sleeved shirts and, once they scar, I can wear a tank-top and convince someone it's been there forever), my breasts (since no one sees those unless I let them), my upper legs (which can be covered by shorts) and inner thighs. Please understand, I am not advising anyone of the best places to cut their bodies, I am only helping you to understand where cutters are most likely to self-harm.
