Hi. I think that Halloween crabs live in both. ^ o ^
Mostly asian shore crabs, Mud crabs,Rock crabs, Donut Crabs and Spider Crabs. I believe there are no freshwater varieties.
They live in the ocean - it would be a little difficult to drink freshwater.
It will drasticly reduce their life they are semi aquatic needing both dry lanf and water
Hermit Crabs live in sea water. Guppies are freshwater fish and will not be able to live in with hermit crabs. The crabs would no doubt eat whatever dead fish you give them.
Land hermit crabs: It's important to have a saltwater as well as freshwater container available in the habitat. Marine hermit crabs: They should only live in salt water if saltwater crabs, or freshwater if freshwater crabs.
No crabs cannot live in a tropical tank. If you go to a petstore they will try to sell you small fiddler crabs, however they do not live in freshwater, they live in brackish water like most small crabs. All brackish water crabs need to be able to be out of water for a certain period of time. If you do buy one of these crabs and put them in your tank they will only be able to survive around a month.
It depends on the type of crab you are referring to. If it is a hermit crab, it will eventually die because hermit crabs need seawater (seawater contains iodine and other minerals that support the growth of the crab.) If it is a normal crab (the ones you eat and cook) it can adjust to the environment or the freshwater you were talking about. If crabs can live in land, so do they live in fresh water.

They live in freshwater.
Crayfish, freshwater crabs, many insects adapted to aquatic environments like caddisflies, mayflies, mosquitos, etc. live in streams (for at least part of their life cycle.)
If it is kept clean.
