Numbers 32:23
The book of Genesis.
There are only two mentions of female goats in scripture, Leviticus 4:28 Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned. And Leviticus 5:6 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin. We are not told the "why" of this, but it is to atone for sin/trespass committed.
Numbers 32:23 - "But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the LORD; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out." (NIV)
Romans 7:7: (NIV)What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."
Yes.
The scripture does not explicitly state that no sin is greater than another. However, it does emphasize that all sins separate us from God and that we should strive to avoid sin and seek forgiveness for our transgressions.
thal shall not swear
I cannot find this phrase in the Bible, but in Mormon scripture it can be found three times. Please correct me if I am wrong regarding the bible.
To test both his word( scripture ) and his resolve( to not sin )!
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish. (Proverbs 19:9)
The notion of 'obstruction of justice' is found in Leviticus 5:1. And if a soul shall sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and be a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he doth not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity. There's another verse in the New Testament, in James 4:17, that touches upon this topic. To him therefore that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
According to scripture, Jesus came to Earth to save humanity from sin and offer eternal life through his sacrifice on the cross.
