lady beetles live on leafs and in plants.
Ladybeetles do not give birth; they lay eggs. And no, they do not die after laying eggs either.
Ladybeetles, or ladybugs, can live for up to 1-3 years depending on the species and environmental factors. Their lifespan is influenced by the availability of food and suitable environmental conditions.

Over the last few weeks I have been watching and photog ladybeetles. When newly hatched, they are a butter yellow! I'd never heard of that. They take about 1 day to change colour. [In our case, that is with a black body with red or yellow spots, splotches, or triangles, depending upon species.] LB usually live on sap from tree etc, but when presented with a pre-wrapped bundle of sap (aka aphids/greenfly) they consider it made. They hatch from an elongate egg laid in groups of a dozen, under a leaf. The caterpillar they hatch into is very active and looks like a miniature Komodo Dragon. They are about as active in walking as a fly is. At least one of the chrysalises was eaten by a caterpillar phase!
