Well it depends on what type of measurement you want to use - Georgia ranks 45th based on SAT scores according to a Georgia eduction blog. Georgia ranks 41st based on Morgan Quinto Smartest State (2006-2007) Georgia ranks 47th based on Averaged Freshman Graduation Rate for Public High School Students according to the gov's education page. That said, there are some exceptional public school systems in Georgia. It all depends on where in Georgia you want to live, what education you consider 'good', etc.
