When proteins are newly formed, they are transported to the cell surface and other parts of the cell in which require protein. These proteins are transported from the cytosol into the biosynthetic-secratory pathway located in the ER.
The Golgi packs these finished proteins into vesicles that are shipped to places in the cell were they are needed ( carried by motor proteins ) and outside of the cell to other cells that need the protein products.
That will depend on the protein, each type does different things and there are many many different proteins. Some are structural, some carry messages from cell to cell, some speed up cellular biochemical reactions, some digest food, etc.
Proteins go like this:
Ribosome --> rough endoplasmic reticulum --> transport vesicle --> golgi apparatus --> wherever the body needs it.
They go to the Golgi body
To the Mitochondria of the cells
To the Golgi apparatus
to your muscles.
The organelle that modifies and packages proteins is the Golgi apparatus. When it does this, it is preparing the proteins for secretion.

The Golgi apparatus is the organelle that is responsible for sorting proteins before they are sent to the body of the organism.

The Golgi Apparatus packages and distributes proteins and lipids in the plant cell.
The ER and Golgi complex serves a place for protein maturation. Polypeptide chain after synthesis undergoes folding events and post translation modification such as acylation, glycoscylation. Golgi vesicles secrete the protein to extracellular space if the proteins is a secretory proteins. It all depends on the destination signal in the proteins.
The packaging and sorting of proteins is a function of the Golgi complex also known as the Golgi apparatus.

It's either the Endoplasmic Reticulum or the ribosomes.
A Golgi apparatus or Golgi body is a cellular organelle that packages proteins.
The Golgi apparatus, or Golgi body, is where proteins and lipids are sorted and packed. The Golgi apparatus has different vesicles that are attached to its edges. One of the vesicles is called the transport vesicle which transports the processed proteins and lipids to their final destination.
