Some teens are big spenders and can't hold on to money once they have it. These traits usually continue through life, and they usually always have problems saving. Others who are more thrifty usually end up developing better economic skills and can save better. Teens like everyone, love money nonetheless.

I believe teens work, as in getting a job, because most of them need the money. Also, some may get work to get away from family or friends. Teens need money to do things they want and they know they aren't going to get everything from mommy and daddy when they are older. So, a job is the next step.

Working and having a job can teach teens a sense of responsibilty, give them something to do with their time, help prepare them (their resumes and their skills) for the future, and it gives them the opprotunity to earn some money, too.
