The crank gear dot should be at 12 o'clock stright up when #1 pistion is all the way to the top of the cylinder. The cam gear dot should be at 6 o'clock stright over top of the crank gear dot. Then put it back together.
Yes the timing chain position marks for engine 4.0 ford explorer eddie bauer
on the harmonic balancer there are two marks, one set at 12o'clock and set at 3o'clock, standing in front of the engine, where do both marks need to be set?
i need timeing marks for a 1999 1.3 chevy metro
i need a diagram for my 95 Chevy beretta for the 2.2L engine. I'm tryin to replace the timing chain, and i need to know what to take off and what not to take off
To replace timing chain on a 3.1 Chevy Lumina engine, you need to first make sure that your motor or engine is turned off. Then you need to remove the chain and replace it.
there is no timing belt -- only a timing chain that does not need to be replaced
can somebody help me get a diagram for a 2002 Chevy cavalier, i need the cam chain ( i need to change the timing chain) thank you
If you have a noisy timing chain you need to replace it.
unless there is noise coming from the timing chain, you should never need to replace it.
First of all, It has a timing chain not a timing belt. No need to change the timing chain and gears. They will last the life of the engine.
the marks have to be pointing each other in the center of the gears
That engine has a timing chain and gears and will probley out last the engine. NO need to replace it.
