Follow the plug wires and they will go to the distributor cap.
on this old distributor there is a cap that holds the wires in place on the distributor. Is there a trick to remove top cap?
If you look at the top of engine but in the back. You will see the Distributor cap and wires. Mark the wires where you understand where they go. Then remove the wires. There is 2 small screews on each side of the cap, remove them and lift cap off. When you put new cap on, make sure it is sitting stright and flat on the Distributor. If it's not right then the screews will not start. It's a little trickey. Then put wires back on were they go.
whats the motor.....but regardless if you follow the plug wires they lead to the distributor cap. v6 has 6 plug wires.....one to each plug and all of the on the distributor cap.......v8 has 8 plugs with their wires leading from each plug to the distributor cap
It is in the very back of the engine. Just follow the spark plug wires from the spark plugs and they will go to the top of the Distributor. That will be the distributor cap that the wires are in.
How does the wires from the spark plug go to the rotor, which order?
There is 4 terminals on the right hand side of the distributor cap were the wires go. It will be the first one on the cap towards the front. That is if the distributor is in right.
The 1997 Escort LX 1.9 does not have a Distributor cap.. the plug wires go directly from the coil assembly to the spark plugs.
There is no distributor cap, only a ciol pack that the plug wires go to
it has to be the distributor cap or rotor or wires...plug wires.
the sparkplag wires lead from the sparkplugs to the distributor.
Follow the wires from the spark plugs and they will go to the distributor unless the engine does not have one and has a coil pack.
