There is a rubber plug on the chain case you will have to pull off. Then a small screw at the bottom of the case you unscrew. Fill the chain case through the rubber plug till oil comes out of the screw hole at the bottom

Most 91 polaris 400's are 2-stroke , and there is an oil tank in the front . Make sure the oil is 2-stroke oil for injection .

There should be a plug bolt on the side of the gearbox, remove this and add gear oil to this opening with a hose. There are special hoses and funnels you can purchase at your local auto parts store.
One reason that it mat be overcharging is due to aftermarket add-ons (extra electrical demand) or it may be caused by a poor battery which is not holding a charge.

Fill plug is on shifting lever side, behind foot step. Need 14mm scket and small extension to remove. Fluid should be filled to the bottom of threads in the hole.
