On the top of the transmission there is a red cap. that cap comes off and you add fluid through there.
Unless you have a LEAK you shouldn't have to add automatic transmission fluid on a regular basis
Transmission fluid is usually added through the dipstick tube.
To check the transmission fluid level in a 2002 Grand Am GT, start the engine and let it warm up to operating temperature. With the engine running, locate the transmission dipstick, typically found near the back of the engine bay. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then pull it out again to check the fluid level; it should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks. If the fluid is low, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube until it reaches the correct level.
Add automatic transmission fluid through the dip stick tube. No kidding!
There is a fluid check/fill plug located on the front of the transmission. Add fluid there until it is level with the bottom of the hole.?æ

If your dipstick reads "Full", then you do not need to add any fluid. Be certain to follow manufacturer instructions when checking fluid level. Your torque converter is part of the transmission, when speaking of fluid, so if the transmission is full, the torque converter is also.
On the 2002 Mitsubishis Lancer , you add the transmission fluid down the dipstick tube. There is a specific fluid for manual transmissions , that information is in the manual under Fluid Capacities.
