Best Answer

On the wall if you are standing the sheets up, the joint is always on a stud. If you are laying the sheets down, the joint will be at 4 ft. Ceiling you generally go across the joist. Generally in any application, you either join on a board or are going across the boards.

How much does it cost to have someone put down drywall all together?

in southern Tennessee the average cost is 6 dollars per board to hang the sheetrock(4 x 12 sheets) and 12 dollars per board to finish it. This is for the number of boards purchased, One quick note, when hanging sheetrock most people will not piece sheetrock they will only use full sheets, this seem like alot of waste but it results in a look that is smooth and neat. Good Luck
