unfortunately the answer to your question is so far from cut and dry its not even funny . Arizona is a difficult state for a felon to live in , first off Arizona has this image of it self as being a "community of excellence". So they hand out felony convictions think candy on Halloween. Then when it comes down to dealing with all these people that have received these felonies . Most of the state shuts the door in their faces, No staffing agency's will deal with a felon , almost all Apartment complex's will deny a felons application to live there, and almost all good paying secure employers wont even consider interviewing an individual who has been convicted . I speak from 100% experience as I am a felon living in the state of AZ in the east valley . I received a felony conviction at the age of 17 after being charged with a crime at the age of 15 that I did not commit . I was made an example of by the city I was living in (Gilbert) so they could prove to the residents they were a force to be reckoned with . My case was a terrible ordeal for me and my family . I am now 29 years old and after getting out of prison in 2002 after a year stay I haven't been able to hold down a good solid job in over 11 years . See a big problem for "us" "felons" isn't just finding a job it's keeping one . I can explain , see a lot of employers out there take advantage of us , because of the whole "you need us we don't need you" way of thinking . We are treated poorly , made to work all the bottom end stuff despite experience and skill . In some cases I have seen employers threaten people who were still on parole/probation that if they didn't work overtime for no pay or no overtime pay they would call their P.O and lie to them etc. It's very hard for us , now to answer the question more directly , fast food is a decent option for a felon, as well as window washing . Selling Auto Glass can make a person some pretty good money . If you can get lucky installing Auto glass is an option too if companies are hiring don't try Safelite they wont hire felons . try Omega auto glass, Auto Glass Shop , and other smaller companies . Taxi driving is also another one . restaurant dish washer , if you can beat an illegal alien to the punch same rules apply for construction . its unfortunate but most places will hire an illegal before a felon . well I hope my answer was helpful and informative for some.
