How do I replace the rear wiper motor or just remove the rear panel on the back window to see if my rear wiper motor is unplugged on my 2007 Subaru Outback? Thanks!
See "Rear Window Wiper and Washer Switch" on page 20 in chapter 3 "Instruments and Controls" of your "OWNER'S MANUAL".....
Get the blade directly from a Subaru Dealer. The other brands do not fit . I've tried to adapt them, it will not work. Get the whole wiper blade arm and blade from Subaru only. Very expensive for a wiper blade around $18
removal of rear winshield wiper arm on 07 outback
The 2007 Subaru Outback has the most common "hook-end" wiper arms on the front and the newer style "roc lock 3" rear wiper arm attachment. See sources and related links below for installation videos. Also, purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.
The 2000 Subaru Outback has various wiper sizes based off of trim (sport is different than other trims). See sources and related links below for the wiper blade sizes by vehicle trim.
The drivers side wiper blade for a 2005 Subaru Forester is 22 and the passenger side wiper blade is a 19. The rear window wiper is a size 15.
The 2001 Subaru Outback wiper blade sizes are 22" drivers side, 20" passenger side and a 14" or 15" rear wiper. See sources and related links below for more information. Since there are over 22 different wiper arm attachments, do not buy wipers just by length only. Be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment.
The 2001 Subaru Outback has different wiper configurations on the Sport vs the Base or Limited - so keep that in mind. You'll need make, model + trim and year to look up the correct replacement blades. When buying windshield wiper blades be sure to always use the application guide book at the store or now-a-days you can google 'lookup wiper size'.You want to look this up because correct wiper fit is more than correct length, it's also proper attachement. Not all attachments fit all arms. Using the application guide or looking up wiper size online will avoid headaches of buying the right lengths with the wrong attachements. See related links below.
You left out two key pieces of information. What year Outback and which wiper motor. If you are planning on working on your car yourself you should get the service manual for the specific model and year. These are available on eBay for under $10 in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format. Well worth the investment.
The 1996-2000 Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan takes 28" replacement windshield wiper blades on both sides front and an 18" rear replacement wiper blade.
The 2005 Subaru Outback takes a 24" drivers side, 18" passenger side and a fairly specialized 14" rear wiper that is difficult to find in the stores. See sources and related links below for more information. Since there are currently over 22 different wiper arm attachments, do not buy wipers just by length only - be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment.
