it will be in the throttle body iat stands for idle air control and its actually not a sensor its an electro magnet that controls what its named for good luck
The knock sensor, in your 1997 Chevrolet Lumina, can be found on the front of the engine. The knock sensor is near the top of the engine.
First find the crank sensor and then kick the crap out of it :D

It is built into the mas air flow sensor, And you can find that on the side of the air filter box and clamped to the air intake duct work that goes to the engine throttle plate housing.
It has to be checked out and find out what is wrong with it.
