This is the block casting number for a Chevy 305, build between 1976 and 1979.
This size motor was manufactured from 1968 - 1976. In order to find the exact year there should be a number 1 high casting on the bottom left corner of the block.
The engine block from a 1976 Pontiac Astra was made out of aluminium.
where's 1976 Renault 5 tl engine code number and chasiss number? the place engine and chasiss number in any country is same or not?
First of all....absolutely not an original engine for this year. The last year for the 455 was 1976. Do some research and make sure you are actually getting a 455. The block casting codes are stamped by the distributor and the head casting numbers are on the two center exhaust ports. There are plenty of online sites that will help you decode these numbers.
Engine offerings for the 1976 model year included a 250 cubic-inch inline six and a variety of V8s including the 305, 350 and 400 cubic-inch versions of the Chevy small-block V8
Double check that number, please. There's a chance that the second '8' might actually be a '3', in which case, would make it a Buick block for a 3.8 liter V6, manufactured in 1976 - 1978.
Of course it has a fuel pump. It is mechanical and is mounted on the engine block. Follow the fuel lines from the carburetor and you will find it.
The Chevy small block V8 305 cubic inch engine was manufactured between 1976 and 1996. It was used in cars and trucks.
( 8 ) spark plugs for your 360 cubic inch V8 engine
I've seen a 572 fit into one with no modification to the existing fenders or hood 502 Big Block
That is the 1968 thru 1976 "#2" block. It is a 350 CID engine. Solid main webs, heavy and strong. All were painted gold from the factory. No significant differences from '68 thru '76 on this block. The exact VIN stamp is at the LH side, at the front, on a vertical machined surface. 38M100123 for example- 3 for Oldsmobile, 8 for 1968 [9 for 1969, etc.], M for Michigan assembly plant [others possible], and then 100123 would match the car's VIN last 6. So, the 2nd digit of this VIN derivative will be the last digit of the model year of issue. This digit will also be on the engine's original oil fill tube, but the other digits will not match- an example would be an oil fill tube stamp of "8101442" for a 1968 engine.
