First of all....absolutely not an original engine for this year. The last year for the 455 was 1976. Do some research and make sure you are actually getting a 455. The block casting codes are stamped by the distributor and the head casting numbers are on the two center exhaust ports. There are plenty of online sites that will help you decode these numbers.
Trans can mean two things that I'm aware of: Trans is a shortened form of the word Transmission. And it can also mean across. For example, the Pontiac Trans Am would mean across America, the trans American.
about 24 hours to go across ontario on the trans canada highway
it would be to hard to replace the trans. in your vehicle, unless you have a lift, engine support and trans. jack.i would take it to a respectable dealership,or trans shop.
With the help of an adapter plate and a wheelbarrow full of money, yes. It would be cheaper to swap the old engine and standard trans for a later model engine and auto trans.
it means across or through, such as in transportation. I would like to extend that answer in a general manner. "Trans" can also have the connotation of sending.....such as transmission, transport........, but how about "transparent"? Food for thought.
Yes, with some modifications.
Unfortunately, a 1997 Toyota Supra engine and trans would not fit into a 1990 Mazda Miata. The Supra engine and transmission are unable to be mounted correctly within a Miata to make them fit.
That would be the 4L60E trans.
Anything is possible, but that would be very complicated. The 360 and its trans would not even really fit under the hood.
Low trans fluid, or internal trans failure.
probably But why would you want to?
Assuming the engine runs fine, I would look at the TCC solenoid which is located in the trans. It can be replaced without pulling the motor or the trans. A good mechanic can do the job in a reasonable amount of time.
