Does smoking ciggerettes keep THC in the body?

Drain is the wrong word. The thing at the end of the cigarette is actually a filter, which is obvious just by reading the name, it filters out a lot of the chemicals tobacco companies put into the cigarettes. The filter will also filter out some THC from a Cannabis cigarette, but some is still likely to get through.

Is there any nicotine is cigars?

Yes, there is lots of nicotine in cigars. It's like a pack of cigarettes. You don't inhale the smoke into your lungs but your mucous lining absorbs the same amount of nictone and chemicals from puffing it an hours as an entire pack of cigarettes. Plus cigars don't have filters like cigarettes.

Is it true when plastic cigarette filter companies claim their filters can filter out 90 percent of tar and nicotine?

I am a 2 pack per day smoker. I have also been using these filters for over 5 years now so I guess I am qualified to answer this question. The Arista Scientific Study that was performed on this product was pretty well documented and conducted under very scientific conditions. They are no slouches and protect their reputation pretty closely. There appears to be an inverse relationship to the strength of the cigarette and the percentage of tar and nicotine that is removed. With Marlboro Red, a higher percentage of Tar and Nicotine is removed than in a Marlborough light. I would imagine a non filtered Picayune would produce incredible results. I am a light cigarette smoker so do I think these filters are removing 90% of the tar and nicotine in my cigarettes? Probably not. Does it remove a lot? Absolutely YES! In fact, for me, it works so well that I can not smoke a cigarette without one. On the rare occasion when I do, I find myself coughing much more than when I do use them. When I see the amount of tar and nicotine that is being trapped and thrown into the trash, rather than going into my lungs, without affecting the flavor of my cigarettes, I don't ask if it 70,80,90%, I just know that as smoker, I am reducing the risks associated with smoking. They will still probably kill me but I love to smoke. I not only can't quit, I don't want to quit. Cigarettes have become terribly expensive but I still smoke. They are bad for my health but I still smoke. My health insurance is significantly higher than a non smoker but I still smoke......but I use plastic filters to reduce the amount of tar and nicotine that enters my lungs but I still get the full flavor taste of my favorite cigarette.

When were cigarette filters invented?

There have been cigarettes with filters almost as long as there have been cigarettes. In 1883 or 1884, Dr. Scott's Electric Cigarettes may have been the first. They had a recessed filter on one end, and a match head on the other. So, you could strike one end and light the cigarette. It was not called a filter, it was called a 'no nicotine mouthpiece.' In fact, this is what filter cigarettes were primarily called until the 1940s. Until the late 1920s, filter cigarettes had to be rolled by hand, no machine had been invented to manufacture them. So, they were rare and expensive. In Britain, where more companies rolled their cigarettes by hand, filtered versions were more common, beginning c1900. The first machine made filter was duMaurier, which went on sale in Britain in 1929. They were also sold in Canada. In the US, Parliament was offered in filtered form (no nicotine mouthpiece) beginning in 1932.
