It actually depends on the engine. But if it has HT LEADS (High Tension) Follow these from the distributor or electronic ignition unit and there are the plugs in the manifold of the engine

hi there you have to remove the top engine mount and inlet manifold about 15 bolts its a bit potchy to get out and then you can get at the heater plugs
first, an engine heater has to have been installed on the vehicle. if the car did have an engine heater installed in it, most newer vehicles would have had a soft plug heater put in. soft plugs are located on the side of the engine block. they knock that plug out and install a heater in it. look for any ac wire( it will look like a three prong plug on any of your household appliances) in the engine compartment.
I was looking at a drawing on one of Fords websites and it shows the engine block heater for a 2002 Ford F-350 , 7.3 liter Diesel engine , takes the place of one of the engine expansion plugs on the drivers side of the engine , near the rear of the engine
If it has a block heater it will be installed on the passenger side of the engine , in place of one of the freeze plugs ( core plug , expansion plug etc )
