First of all, I am not a auto repair man, But I am having a 97 north star over heating and today I just replaced a new water pump, (two of them I must say as I thought I messed the first one up trying to get the tool to work, So here is what I found, By putting the tool on the pump It was going in to far hitting and would not turn So what I did I placed the pump In place use my hand to start it a little and then I use a small screw driver on one of the flanges and push it a little more, And then I use the Tool to put it Tight where its to be. (After that all worked fine) PS the tool wanted to get hung by pushing it all the way in from the start. (ALL SO BE CAREFUL YOU MAY BREAK THE FLANGES IN THE WATER PUMP HOUSING.) sure Hope This will Help YOU. jrjohn
