There is no practice or training mode in BF3; however, for flying helo's or learning any other equipment operation, the easiest thing to do is to rent a server, put it in Private mode, then fly however long you need to to get your skills down. Of course the downside is that you won't have anyone shooting at you unless you've got friends on your server with you.
The Co-op missions do have one mission that's helo based, but it's not really an accurate representation of how all of the different helos respond in combat.
Practice is essential to learning any skill, including the skill of playing a musical instrument.
Study it. Practice it. Repeat as needed.
There could be many reasons to practice a skill. Here are a few...1. To learn a new skill. Practice in front of a mentor, who can explain the key aspects of the new skill and the things to avoid.2. To unlearn an old habit that's wrong.3. To refine an existing skill.4. To discover what you're doing wrong.6. To work on your fitness.7. For fun.
It depends on how fast you learn and how often you practice. It also depends on your skill level.
A person can 'learn' to do something wrong, like using a tennis racket inefficiently, but that is a different case than trying to learn something while tired or sore. That will probably improve a skill, but not enough to justify the effort.
Watch alot of Television in order to hear the people communicating. Learn from them and practice the different speaking skills on your own.
There are a few skills that will help with photography and getting a job in the field. Practice does make you better and the more practice the better you will be. Studying others work is also a good skill to pick up because you can learn better ideas,
