You can buy an adapter that hooks up to the speaker outputs and generates a true turn on lead or you can hook it up to ignition (pink) at the key switch if you want to save money.

Remove the decorative cover to your 2001 Chevy Lumina stereo. Remove the stereo retaining screws. Slide the stereo out and remove the wiring harness. Remove the antenna cable.

The 2004 Chevy Malibu dashboard speakers measure 3.5 inches in diameter. The door speakers measure four inches by five inches. The rear speakers measure four inches by five inches.
Pull out the ashtray and pop out the panel covering your stock radio, a/c, & tape player. It just snaps out. Unscrew the 2 screws holding the factory radio in. Install your after-market radio and pop the cover panel back on. Seems almost to easy right?
