Depending on where the leak is, if there is a weakness in the 350 it was with the oil cooler lines. It turns out that most of the oil leaks from the cooler lines has nothing to do with seals. It's a problem with the cooler line.
do you remove motor mount to remove oil cooler lines on 2001 chev 2500 hd 4x4
Normally 5 quarts with a filter change on a stock 350.
Yea it does! Also fits 1998 chev 5.0 litre enginec
with a cooler 7 quarts with out the cooler it is 6 quarts
It's at the top rear of engine, near the Distributor.
Top rear of engine, close to the distributor.
It don't have to have it. But it will make the engine LAST LONGER.
Your problem has NOTHING to do with the OIL LINES whatsoever. The fuel pump,ECM / COMPUTOR, The intire engine and transmission wireing harness on the 1990 will not even hookup to the 1996 engine. Everything I listed above is compleatly DIFFERENT to make the 96 even run. Now if you know all of that, then you DON"T need the oil cooler lines. They have NOTHING to do with the engine running.
The Original small block Chev 262, 283, 302, 305, 307, 350 and 400 all had the oil pressure sender under the distributor at the rear of the engine between the two valve covers.
