place filters (splitters) on the line everywhere that an analog phone is used
Once your connection comes through, an installation pack consisting of the CPE and installation guide will be sent to you. If you have requested BSNL for installation, a technician will visit and complete the installation for you. If you are buying your own Modem you can still request for installation on payment of the requisite charges. We will, however, only support equipment supplied by us.

ADSL filter is a passive electrical circuit, (low pass filter) which is used along with an ADSL modem (for internet access). It can be built into an ADSL modem or is provided as a small box along with the modem. On one side it connects to the telephone network side. Other side has two connections one for connecting the phone and other one to connect to the ADSL modem. It essentially filters the high frequencies, which the modem uses, and thus prevents it from interfering with the telephone signals which uses lower frequencies for audio signals.
Splitters typically have 3 labels: ADSL, Phone and Line. To use a splitter you connect your telephone devices (eg phone, fax or answering machine) to the connection labelled phone, your ADSL modem to the ADSL connection and the line to the wall socket. If you have other telephone wall sockets in the property on the same telephone line you will need to plug in filters between the phone and the wall socket. In addition to the user installable spliter in the photograph above, you can have a central splitter (see right) installed by a telephone technician. A central splitter is installed on the telephone line before the first phone point in the property. Thus the central splitter protects the all the phone exensions from the ADSL signal. A new phone point is wired into the central ADSL splitter specifically for the ADSL modem. The ADSL modem will not work on any other point in the property.Central Splitters are sometimes used when user installable splitters and filters do not result in a reliable ADSL connection
Filters are necessary part of a Telecom Broadband connection. They prevent the ADSL signal from reaching your phone and creating interference. This interference can affect your Telecom Broadband connection as well as creating hissing noise on your phone.
