Did your hamster get out of its cage? When mine escapes she likes to hide under things, like the couch or the bed. A well packed closet floor is also a popular spot.
They also like to go in the walls of the house when they escape. But if they haven't escaped, they like to hide under their wheel or under their bedding.
If hamsters get out of their cage they usually like smaller tight areas. When my hamster got out he was under the heater base boards in our house they could even go into your walls. Some ways you may be able to catch him or find him is turn off anything noisy and try to listen for him ruffling around somewhere or hear him squealing. Usually at night they tend to ruffle around alot more because that is when their most active. You could also place food somewhere and just wait and watch
If your hamster escaped and you can't find it I recommend you lock your other pets out (if you have) and put your hammie's favorite food in several rooms. Wait a little bit and try to be quiet and you'll find it in no time.
There are many ways to find a lost hamster. If you have only one hamster, leave the cage on the floor with the door open. The hamster will actually come back to its cage sometimes. However, you should also look everywhere. A hamster could be just about anywhere in your house. Also remember that hamsters are more active around sunset and into the night, so don't be dissappointed if you can't find it during the day. Put a pile of sunflower seeds in each room and close all doors. If seeds dissappear from a room, it is likely that your hamster will be in that room. Another trick is to set up a "bucket trap." Do this with a bucket (at least 6 inches tall), a plank of wood or similar object, a towel, and food/water. Set it up by setting the bucket down with a ramp leading to it. The hamster will climb up the ramp and jump in the bucket, but will then be unable to get back up. Make sure to cover the bottom of the bucket with a towel, so that the hamster won't hurt itself jumping in, then put your food and water on the towel. Check it every so often.
WARNING:Be careful when losing a hamster around Christmas time. Once, my hamster went up the tree holder to get water, but then couldn't get back up and drowned. Likewise, when setting up a bucket trap, make sure to put the water in a bowl!Hamsters should be kept in a "hamster-safe" cage when you are not playing with them. It can be a tank with a screen cover (surprisingly they can climb the walls using the coners or any hanging water bottles) or in a hamster cage. The cage should be kept n a quiet place (unless your hamster likes to watch activity like one of mine do) away from any possible drafts of cold or hot air. The temperature should not be to col or to hot. If you and more than one other person are comfortable with the temperature chances are it's ok for a hammy. However just because your ok with it doesnt mean your hammy is. You might like hotter (or colder) temperatures so think about what your hammy would like. You can always move the cage around as long as you have the space for it too...
Keep your hamster in a nice warm room in winter, and a cool room in summer.

Keep your hamster in a warm room away fom drafts and hearters

Keep it there.
I have seasonal allergies and a hamster. I used to keep my hamster in the basement and now she is in my room, but there isn't really much of a difference. so no i don't think that a hamster would make things worse, but if you are still unsure don't keep the hamster in your room
Keep the hamster cage out of reach from the cat.
yes but not all the time it will burn the hamster
don't play too Rufe with the hamster or dropping them on the floor
handle it every day and give it loads of treats or get another hamster to play with
I have never heard of anyone keeping a hamster outdoors.
in a cage
You prevent your cat from having access to your hamster. Keep your hamster caged at all times unless supervised by an adult. If the cat is aggressive, keep the cat in a seperate room or outside when you take the hamster out.
If you want them to breed, then yes if not then keep them separated
you should keep it in a separate cage
