If you are refering to SD Card adapter, there are the following methods.
If the adapter uses USB, then attach it to a USB port. (common)
If the adapter converts to firewire, plug it into a firewire port. (uncommon)
If it adapts mini/micro SD to SD, then slot it into a SD Card Slot.
