there is a plug in transmission front on drivers side ,the plug is recessed in trans case
(similar to the one in most rear wheel drive rear ends), it takes a 3/8 drive extension
with a swivel head the fluid is atf just like the automatics,you will need a long funnel with swivel spout,pour till runs out replace plug.plug is close to trans mounting bracket
If you have the 1.9L, you have to take the speedo cable assembly out and there will be the hole to fill your transmission fluid

For a 1995 manual transmission grand am, the fluid capacity is 2.0 quarts for a complete drain and refill. The fluid type is 80W90 transmission oil.
If it is an automatic, then you add fluid the same place you check it. Purchase a filter desingned for this purpose. It is is a manual transmission you add fluid at th transmission. There is a plug near the top on the side. fill it until the lubricant runs out. It is now full. Check your owner's manual for the proper fluid or lube in case it is manual. Some use a lube and some use A/T fluid even if it is a manual.

Use Mercon ATF.

It all depends on the type of transmission the truck has, if it is manual than manual transmission fluid is used where if it is automatic, automatic transmission fluid is used Not always, my 91 302 with a 5 speed manual uses auto fluid, a lot of manuals do.
