im not sure if it is the same for an automatic transmission, but for a manual, it should be under the hood, in the engine bay.
when you open the hood, you are standing in front of the engine, look behind the engine, where the engine joins with the transmission, on the left side... that is if you are standing in front of the car, look on the left side of the transmission, there should be a 12 inch dip-stick that goes into the transmission housing. this is where you can check the fluid level, or add fluid. if you change the fluid, you refill the transmission from here as well
Generally speaking, a rebuilt transmission for a 1997 Subaru Impreza will cost between $2,000 and $5,000. It could be more or less, it depends on the parts put in and the worker labor charges.
Unfortunatly I dont know the amount but I know you shouldnt put oil in your "auto transmission" you should be useing transmision fluid.
A plugged transmission filter can cause your transmission to hesitate when you shift into drive. A collapsed vacuum hose can also cause the problem.
I assume it is the same for my 96 Impreza, but when I changed mine, I poured it in where the transmission dipstick was through a funnel
Pull the dipstick out, put a funnel into the tube where the dipstick was, open transmission fluid container, pour.
Simply put...you don't. They are always awd.
Depends on which year/model motor you are trying to use and which year/model you are trying to put it into. Subaru's are built like Lego and most parts are interchangeable, problem is there are substantial wiring modifications required for some swaps.
In the transmission.
Yes.
You put the Transmission Fluid in the Transmission (fill point transmission drip stick tube)
I want to check the level of atf temp in my subaru forester 2010. On checking the transmission fluid level, after the car was driven about 10 km and was put in each gear and setting the select level in the "p", do i have to turn off the engine or idle the engine before i check the atf level?
The transmission will fail.
