This is a very controvertial subject. I feel that if the dog is in UNCURABLE pain, it is unfair to make them live like that. However, if it is curable, don't have them euthanized.
There are many pain medications for dogs now. And some are available for cheaper cost on line with such sites as petmeds.com and others.
Overall, whether to put a dog to sleep has some typical factors. Do consider what the dog needs so that the answer is never about owner convenience. Ask yourself questions: is the animal having discomfort such as pain? Can it be treated? Is the animal having subjective discomfort that they can't get over due to loss or change in functioning? In simple terms, are they "depressed" due to not being able to walk or can they cope and do they try to manage? And because a dog has weakness in walking is not nor should it be a death knell for all dogs. Some dogs temperment responds well to assisted lifting with rear end leashes and/or carts to aid in their capacity for independent movement.
The hardest issue can be if one member of a couple or other family member just can't deal with the pet's functioning issues and wants the end faster than you do. Prayer and good discussion is essential so that the best choice comes about.
And of course, visit your vet and ask the hard questions about time line. What does he/she think? And ask your dog. I know it sounds strange but I've heard this before and for many suffering dogs they'll tell you what they want/need.
Allow your vet to determine that, and if it comes to euthanasia your vet should be the one to conduct the procedure. For she/he is more experienced and it would give you emotional damage to know that you put down your dog, cat, etc. Euthanasia is a hard process to watch and go through, so do what you think would be best for you.
You take it to a qualified vetinary surgeon to first determine whether it is necessary and secondly to have it carried out if it is, you don't do it yourself.
The veterinarian's office or the pound.
When you put a pet to sleep, you euthanized it.
You cannot. They will sleep on their own.
you put a bed into your house. then, go to your house and click on the bed. a thing should pop up where you can select which pet you want to put to sleep.

You buy a bed at the W-Shop and click on it and your pet will sleep!
=You should put a tape/CD/radio on. Listen to whatever you put on and just let yourself get to sleep. It works!=
*If your pet knows where it's bed is, it will put itself to bed. They know when they want to sleep and when they to stay up. *If you mean to Euthanize them, your vet will know when to do that.
it depends of what animals you are talking about. if your talking about animals in the pet store, then if they're not sold in a certain amount of time, the workers in the pet store would put the animals to sleep. so if your looking for a pet, please get one as soon as possible because you may never know when the're gonna' be put to sleep!
When it is time to put your beloved pet to sleep for health or pain reasons, take them to your Veterinarian. Make an appointment first so that your Vet knows you are coming. Make sure you are with your pet when this is done so that the last thing your pet sees & feels is his or her beloved owner's face & arms around them.
