∙ 12y agoYes, Kate does speak to her family members. The Gosselins addressed the issue of their families both in interviews and the Viewer FAQ episode of season 4. For a variety of reasons, their families are not involved with the family on camera.
At the end of the Episode where Kate went to Annapolis with Cara and Mady, she expressed a desire to reduce fragmentation in her own family and to speak with her parents about addressing that issue.
