As to Costco, they (like any other retailer including even branded gasoline stations) get their gas from a nearby wholesaler. Often everyone in town is selling gas from the same refinery and wholesaler -- the only difference is that they will add a special additive if that is what the retailer advertises. For example, if you buy gas because it is advertised to contain "agent boy-o-boy", the wholesaler or refiner will add that when the tanker picks up the fuel for that retailer. Otherwise, the gasoline tanker may stop at a several retailers (of several different brands) on the way down the road filling up their storage tanks.
So everyone is selling Saudi oil except Citgo who is definitely selling oil from Chaves government.
Why is it such a secret where they get their gas? Makes me wonder if its from Charvez.
All gasoline comes from the same terminal(s) that are closest to your area. The quality is all the same depending on a few variables. The tanker driver plays a role in this. If they take pride and are properly trained, the gas or diesel that they put in the ground is exactly the same as it would be if you was allowed to get it directly from the source. If the driver does not drain the compartments as much as possible, condensation and dirt builds up. That is not a big deal since most underground tanks are 10 to 20 thousand gallons. Its like spitting in a pond. Most gasoline quality issues arise from stores not maintaining the filters, pumps, or letting the tanks go bone dry. Gasoline is a very light liquid. Water, dirt, and other impurities settle at the very bottom since they are heavier.
Back to the question of supply. Oil prices vary from terminal to terminal on a daily basis. Any station tries to get the best price possible in order to boast lower prices at the pump. Most are going to make "x" amount no matter what. If I could compare it to anything, I would say it is like bottled water. If you want Evian, it will cost more than Aquafina, but they both do the exact same thing. It is a crazy industry. All things considered, all of the different terminals and tanker drivers across the U.S do an amazing job in making sure that your local gas hole does not go dry. If you run into a problem with the performance of your fuel, 99% of that can be attributed to bad filters at the pump.
Yes it is I comes from the same place as any other of the major brands. The one question to ask when was the last time what ever station you buy at changed there filters? this is part of what keeps gas clean so next time in ask them thanks
It comes from all around the world. But in some towns it comes from Murphy's oil.
This is bad information. No all gasolines are the same. Sone have ethanol, some don't. Some have additives, some don't. Search on Top Tier gasoline and you'll see the differences.....

One benefit of being a Sams Club or Costco member is having access to their gas stations. These gas stations are usually cheaper than major chains. The question is, is this gas a lower quality or are warehouse members getting a great deal? Discount gas stations, like those attached to Sams Club, offer high quality gas. These retailers are able to offer lower prices due to the large volume of gas they sell. Taking advantage of these gas stations is a great way to save money on your next tank of gas.
