Well, when you adjust the volume, the Mac plays a feedback sound, it sounds like a pop. To turn of this feature, go to: System Preferences>Sounds>Play Feedback sounds When Volume is Adjusted>Exit System Preferences. Try Now. If you are pressing random keys and your cursor is not in a text box, your Mac is going to make noise. To change the noise (You can't turn it off) go to: System Preferences>Sounds>Customize System Noises>Exit System Preferences. Try Now. If it is a clanking noise or something similar, it is probably a hard drive or cooling fan issue. If this is the case, bring it in to an Apple Store to have it fixed as soon as possible. Tell Me if that works, I also have a Mac, so I'm Right there with you. Go Apple!
