At the synagogue
Jews don't have churches - they have synagogues, and yes, they go to synagogue during Yom Kippur.
Yom Kippur is not a day of celebration but is actually the Jewish day of atonement. Rosh Hashana is 10 days beforehand and it is the start of the Jewish new year. On rosh hashana Jews start repenting for their sins of the previous year and they use the 10 days until yom kippur to pray for forgiveness and show god they are sorry. On yom kippur Jews do not eat as a way of almost mourning over their sins. They go to the synogogue all day and pray to god to give them a good year. Jews believe there is a book of life and a book of death and so they are praying to god to be written into the book of life. The books are sealed on yom kippur and therefore the day ends with a neilla service which signifies the 'gates closing' and the books being sealed.
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur
"Yom Hakippurim" better known as "yom kippur" is the Jewish day of atonement, during which the Jews fast, from sunset to sunset (Leviticus 23), and have many other restrictions on that day. They then go to the synagogue to pray to God for forgiveness for all of their sins that they may have committed throughout the year.
He was Jewish, and one time a world series game fell out on Yom Kippur (the Jewish Day of Atonement), and he sacrificed a WORLD SERIES GAME just to go synagogue on Yom Kippur. That is what I call special.Do you think so?
its different every year because the Jewish holidays go by the lunar calender
Yom Kippur, also known as the day of atonement, is the holiday during which Jews seek to be forgiven for their mistakes of the preceding year. We apologise to HaShem for any mistakes we have made in the preceding year and ask His forgiveness. If we have acted in a negative way to a person, we go to that specific person and apologise and ask their forgiveness. The majority of the day is spent in synagogue for community prayer. This is also a fast day which means no food or water for 25 hours.

Jews do not go to church, which is particularly Christian house of worship. Religious Jews go to the synagogue every day of the week, but have their holy day on Shabbat (which is Friday sundown to Saturday sundown).
Orthodox Jews go to shul (synagogue) three times a day. Once for Shacharit (morning services), once for Mincha (afternoon prayer), and once for Maariv (evening prayer). On Shabbos, Festivals, and the beginning of each new month, a fourth prayer is added: Mussaf. On Yom Kippur, there are five prayers. The last once on Yom Kippur is called Ne'ila.
You can worship God any day of the week and it will still Sabbath. Sunday is the day that people go to church.
