Real peace comes to those who are at peace with God. Jesus came to the earth to proclaim the good news of peace and to announce the Kingdom as the means by which God will restore peace. Jesus taught his followers to pray for God's Kingdom to come, for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10. Jehovah is the God of peace and the Source of peace.

Revelation 12:9-12 indicates the first act of this Kingdom government indeed restored peace in the heavens by casting out Satan and his Demons who had been disturbing the peace, accusing their brothers day and night before God. Now confined to the earth, Satan has brought woe to the earth knowing he has a short period of time. We are living in the climax of what the scriptures call the last days of this wicked system of things. 2Tim 3:1, Matt. 24:3. Jesus called Satan the ruler of this world. John 12:31; 14:30. Satan and his demons have taken peace away from our earth. Estimates vary from 100 million to 300 million killed in wars in the 20th Century. Despite all efforts among mankind, peace has eluded our earth. It will only come on a global scale when shortly God by means of his Son the King of his Kingdom brings the final battle of Armageddon to destroy the wicked. Rev 16:14,16. Dan 2:44, Ps 37:10-12.

Meanwhile the peace of God can come to those who put their lives in harmony with God's righteous standards. Jesus is the key to having a relationship with Jehovah, thus the angels announced at Jesus' birth: " Upon earth peace among men of goodwill." Luke 2:14.

Jesus also gave ALL Christians a commission to preach the good news of the Kingdom. This became the primary purpose of their lives. A by-product of this work is peace. He gave the commission at Matthew 28:19,20: "Go therefore and make disciples of peoples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you...."

Who is there among you that is peaceful, and does the same work Jesus did in your community? Why not seek them out and find true peace and purpose in life.

Do you mean absence of war? Tranquility?or be quiet, "hold your peace.'? attached is the search for the word peace in the KJV. You might want to study it..

Peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

Before joining with Christ, we all were "...at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world (Ephesians 2:12). I can remember having no hope, nothing but the blackness of death to look forward to, without God, no meaning to life. And the worst part, I was in the world. At that time, I was joined to nothing but the world, which is anything but peaceful. Now, I am joined to Jesus Christ, "made near by the blood of Christ" (verse 13). He is our peace (v. 14). He abolished the hostility (v.15), making peace. He is the preacher of peace (v. 17). He provided us access to the Father through the spirit (v. 18), so that we may be joined to God. Only in this way can we be part of the "Purpose of the Ages," to be a part of God's family. That gives one's life real purpose and meaning.

A study of the Greek word for "peace" reveals that it comes from a root word which means "to join." Only in joining in with God and with the Lord Jesus Christ can real peace be achieved. That is as simple as making Jesus your Lord, believing in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9)

Does the Bible record Jesus saying shalom?

Yes.As just one example, in John 20 19-20, Jesus greets his disciples with the word 'peace':" 19On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 20After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. "Of course, in our Bible the English equivalent of 'shalom' is 'Peace be with you' but Jesus, would have, in life, used either the Hebrew 'Shalom' or the Aramaic equivalent.
