the heavier plate gets subsided as it is weighed down, causing the lighter plate to fold up, as the heavier plate goes down it gets heated to exsteme temperature and creates magma which causes volcanos.

To China. They go into the lower level of the crust and to the boundary of the mantle where they are remelted.

In some cases maybe but not in all as new plate material is made at constructive plate boundries.

What lanforms do you get when two plates subduct?

sub is a prefix that means to go under. therefore subduct means one plate goes under the edge of another. so it would probably be a valley.

When young and old oceanic plates collide why does the old plate subduct?

The old plate subduct because it is denser thatn the young plate.

How deep trenches are formed?

Deep-ocean trenches are formed where seafloor tectonic plates subduct under continental plates.

What oceanic convergence?

oceanic convergence is when two oceanic plates subduct beneath one another.

What is Oceanic convergence?

oceanic convergence is when two oceanic plates subduct beneath one another.

Why do some plates subduct under others?

Some plates subduct under others mainly due to difference in their densities. Relatively lighter plate tends to be more buoyant than heavier ones, so in such situations when two such plates meet, the lighter one rises while the denser plate is been subducted.

Is oceanic oceanic convergence?

oceanic convergence is when two oceanic plates subduct beneath one another.

Why does the oceanic plate subduct and the continent doesn't?

water puts the Oceanic plates under much more pressure than the air above Continental plates

How does density affect how plates interact?

Density plays a key role in convergent boundaries. When two plates collide at a convergent plate boundary, it is the denser plate that will subduct.

What happens when a plate gets subducted?

The colder, more dense plate is the one that subducts in a collision between two plates. In an oceanic to oceanic plate collision it is the older of the two plates that will subduct due to its higher density. In an oceanic to continental plate collision, it's the oceanic plate that will subduct because of its higher density.

What does The collision of two oceanic plates?

when two plates collide they form trenches.

Why do convergent oceanic plates subduct but continental plates do not usually respond in this way?

Oceanic crust is denser than continental crust, dense enough to sink into the mantle. Continental crust is not dense enough to do this.
